Stag and Hen Parties
Stag and Hen Parties?
Yes, stag and hen parties are still wedding related.
Stag Parties also known as the bachelor parties.
Hen Parties also known as bridal showers.
So is this still needed?
Well according to traditions, the stag and hen parties' end goal is to help the bride and groom set up their own home.
I remember when my best girlfriends Alma, Ellaine, Jinkee, Mezhel and Susan gave me a bridal shower of sort with simple gifts. We just had an enjoyable lunch where we celebrated it at Jinkee's house and she cooked a sumptous meal.
In this day and age, stag and hen parties are social rituals that couples participate in. These gatherings are regarded as the soon-to-be bride and groom's last hurrahs. But I guess, there's more to the last hurrah because a deeper symbolism of this is that they leave their single-hood behind and begin their days of wedded bliss.
It's up to the couple how they would like to celebrate it - individually with each of their friends or together. What needs to be remembered is that they will enjoy that moment.
Usually the hen parties is the more conservative and wholesome ritual. Normally organized by the bride's sister or her bestfriend. Meanwhile, stag parties based on experience is filled with more excitement. For the bachelors, it's really their chance for a last hurrah, sort of a rowdy party at a friend's house, a night at a bar etc.
For all the hype attached to these events, having them is, on some level, an integral part of the wedding preparations as this allows you to get into the proper mindset as you walk down the aisle.
By having a last hurrah of sorts/parties/gatherings, couples are able to make the distinction that this is where they stop living solely for themselves and start living a life for two.
Best,
Cel

10 Wedding Mistakes
Just want to share with everyone 10 Wedding Mistakes that a bride and groom should never do:
1. Forgetting what the day is really about and losing perspective. It’s only 4-5 hours of your life. Don't let stress get in your way - enjoy and savor t your wedding date!
2. Not involving your significant other in the planning process. Wedding is just a day; marriage is forever - even picking a hotel for the dressing venue, color and flavor of the cake needs decision of the 2 parties involved.
3. Getting intoxicated the night before can seriously take a toll on you. You’re going to be on your feet for hours upon hours the next day – Get your rest. Listen to your coordinators - a day before the wedding should be your REST DAY, your CHILLAX DAY!
4. Being inconsiderate. Asking your guests to wear particular color, bringing this particular gift etc. Let them feel that their presence or them gracing the occasion is the most important thing a newlywed couple can ask for.
5. Not adhering to a budget. Enough said. Please, please do stick to your budget. If you have the money, go for quality and the best suppliers but it doesn't mean that you spend a million for your wedding and that million would be coming from loans, credit cards etc. Do not start your marriage life in debt.
6. Not having a Plan B. What if it rains? Do you have a back-up plan? As I always tell my clients "Think of the worst case scenario..."
7. Not knowing your officiant and your emcee really well. These are the leaders of your ceremony and reception – They should have a clear idea of your expectations. Better to meet them ahead of time; if time doesn't permit at least interview people who've worked with them or talk to them over the phone in that way you'd be able to build rapport at least in a short time with them before the Big Day.
8. Wasting Money. Is it really necessary to get the P5,000 pair of shoes for your day? Figure out what are the most important things to you – and go from there.
9. A lack of personality. Couples would get cupcakes as their souvenirs but don’t put any of their own style and personality into it. Wedding is all about PERSONALITY, reflecting the couple as two different persons uniting as one.
10. Letting the wedding take over your life; and your friends’ lives; and your families’ lives. It’s a large part of your life, but make sure that you don’t lose too much focus over it. It is just a ONE DAY event, yes, it is the beginning of the rest of your lives but don't let that day dominate you, your friends, your families, your perspective, your decisions...

Wedding Motif in 2011
It's November and soon we will approach Year 2011 ...
I'm excited because 2011 definitely will be a blast for my business because now I am claiming by faith that God will be providing me with repeat and new clients not just in coordination and hosting services but definitely in other services that I've offered this year like bubble machine, photobooth rental, missalette etc.
Just to keep everyone updated - wedding motif in 2011 is going to be BRIGHT. I guess it's sort of a carry over of 2010's wedding motif which ranges from deep red, teal, violet, turquoise, platinum, yellow , sage and fuschia.
And 2011 will give more couple more choices because it is tropical, fun, whimsical and bright - definitely amazing in all its aspect.
Colors that would dominate 2011 would surely include Apple green, mauve, lilac, hot pink, slate grey, celadon, aged gold, coral, red, violet purple, mocha / chocolate / brown, navy, emerald / pine green / dark cyan, clementine orange, and yellow.
But those are just based from artist's researches and personal opinion. Wedding Motif should reflect your personality as a couple. So if you want your motif to be black that would be pretty cool, too! There's no golden rule for wedding motif - just follow your heart and everything will fall into its place.
The most important thing in a wedding is not just the motif but a couple's love and commitment to each other.
Best,
Cel

My favorite WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS
Some photographer suppliers can be pain in the *ss for coordinators ( I know one team whom I will never ever recommend to my couples - they said they are REAL but I don't think they are really REAL hehehe). But I would say majority are fun to work with and are great company.
I've worked with the best, coolest and super down to earth photographers and so far have chosen my favorites - so the following are the my favorite photographers ...
I've worked with the best, coolest and super down to earth photographers and so far have chosen my favorites - so the following are the my favorite photographers ...
Of course, top of my list is none other than the super down to earth and cool lawyer and wedding photographer - Sir Archie or Atty. Fortun .... walang tatalo sa kakwelahan at super bait... enjoyed every moment working with him...
Next in my list of course would Nice Print's Best - Bernie and Rupert (included is Harlyn of CVJ Catering). I love their shots and they are such a great company. Nakakasawa na nga kasi we've worked with them most of the time, hehehe, but it's always a blessing to see how they work and how passionate they are taking every shots in the event.
Of course, si Kuya Zandro of Smart Shots - simple lang pero galing ng mga shots - one of the best! In fact I always tell him his shots are at par or sometimes mas maganda pa kay ****... hehehe that's our secret. He's always the ever reliable, simple but cool Kuya Zandro. I also love the works of Archie and his work ethics (too bad I can't find our pictures together hehehe)
Another favorite is Sir Richard of Treasured Memories, matipuno, super down to earth din and walang arte talaga.
Another favorite photographer of mine is Sir Danny Ignacio of Vignette Photography - yun nga lang can't find our pictures din but I love his works and of course how he handles his team and how he deals with the rest of the suppliers - galing!
Of course, isama na rin natin ang aking events assistant (groom's assistant/photographer) na si Mike, very consistent in getting pictures during our wedding - thanks Mike! - kulang na lang sa yo is DSLR and pwede na ...
These are the guys I often recommend to my clients - not because they are the best in their field but because they are easy to work with, has a lot of passion with what they do and are such a great company!

Cel

Who is my bodyguard during my client meeting?
Aside from my father who usually accompanies me during my client meeting and Bullet (name of my car) who's been my reliable transport service, I also have a bodyguard who accompanies me and he is a little adorable and sweet boy who would patiently play at the mall's playground or kiddie playhouse or would just wait at the car until he falls asleep and would always tell me "sama ako work mama tapos bili ako toys" and then he would also say "jesus, thank you sa work ni mama para marami siya pera at marami ako toys" ... amusing and adorable.
So, who is my little bodyguard? Of course, no other than my son who has always been supportive of what I do - GABRIEL.
I'd like him to see what I usually do so that when he grows up he would have the mindset of an entrepreneur-business minded person. During client meeting I'd buy him toys that are not expensive and would reiterate to him that it is his prize for being a good boy and would tell him that if he likes the expensive one we need to save for it which he would readily agrees.
As a proud mother, I'd like to share the many pictures we've had where he accompanied me during my client meetings ...
So there ... Praying for more client meetings with Gab and hopefully in the future he'll be joining not just my bodyguard but one of my events assistant.
Best,
Cel

Toy Story Theme: 4th Birthday Celebration of Gab
For mother's like me (and a coordinator/planner on the sideline), it's always an enjoyable moment to prepare your kid's birthday celebration.
During Gab's 1st birthday Celebration and Christening the theme was SESAME STREET as during that time his favorite was Elmo, Big Bert and Ernie and Cookie Monster. The celebration took place at the National Federation Women's Club Function Hall.
On his 2nd birthday the theme was Narnia - which we just celebrated in our Sampaloc Residence. We rented kiddie chairs and tables and while they were enjoying the food, they all watched the Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.
Gab's 3rd birthday doesn't have any animation/cartoon type of theme but I just dubbed it potluck food fiesta
as Gab celebrated his birthday together with his Tita Ryza and Tito Brian's Birthday. Overflowing food as relatives and family members brought each of their share to make the 3 celebration extravagant hehehe.
Well this time, Gab's 4th birthday celebration is back with a theme - TOY STORY. Just a simple celebration for family and relatives and then I just brought polvoron from Goldilocks that has the Toy Story theme and coloring books to give to my nephews and nieces and they all enjoyed it.

Gab with his kuya ivan and kuya ethan
Tita Ryza and kuya drix
Gab, Tita Cecille and baby JL
It doesn't have to be an extravagant celebration what matters is that Gab is enjoying that moment, he is enjoying his birthday celebration.
Although next year, I'm thinking of a big celebration for his birthday (sort of including our next baby's christening as well). With God's grace I hope it will be come true since Gab will be turning 5 next year.

Your Events at Wedding Expo - September 25 and 26 (SMX Convention)
I always enjoyed joining Theme's N' Motif's Bridal Fair. I believe they are one of the most reliable, trustworthy and organized bridal fair organizer in the country. Based on past history, I'd get 40% of my clients from them (40% referral from previous clients and 20% from online clients c/o Multiply, Sulit etc.) They'd really invest in marketing and promotions (not just billboards and print ads but even in social networking sites, unlike other bridal fairs).
And since there were so many guests/couple-delegates that day, I didn't get the chance to take a picture of all clients who booked me but I had some here to show you guys... enjoy!

my friend and colleague Marth
my previous bride who's also pregnant (just like me) Honeyleen
my two naughty and cheerful assistants - Gab (my son) and Ethan (my nephew) - where they took pictures at a Beetle Limo
We'll be joining again in the March Bridal Fair, so hope to see everyone again!
