Landslide - My No. 1 Stress Buster Song

  • One of the most simple song I've heard is "Landslide" - great rhythm rocking, perfect melody!  A very simple country-folk-inspired song where the lyrics describes the metaphor of the physical world and its power to effectively describe a love affair. Truly, Stevie Nicks is a genius in making this song!

I would say this is one fine song ... Whenever I feel blue, whenever I'd like to be relaxed with a smooth/relaxing sound, whenever I'd like to meditate because of all the stress (the hustle and bustle of work) I'd listen to this song (this specific video in You Tube) and everything else falls into place ... a traditional but very effective stress-buster song!

Let me sing my favorite lines in the song:

Oh, mirror in the sky, what is love?
Can the child within my heart rise above?
Can I sail through the changing ocean tides?
Can I handle the seasons of my life?
Mmm, mmm, mmm

Well, I've been afraid of changing
'Cause I've built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Even children get older and I'm getting older too

4 Stages of Marriage

I found an article from Retrouvaille about the 4 stages of marriage, it was an enlightening article - inspiring and moving.  Enjoy!

4 STAGES OF MARRIAGE:

There are 4 Stages of Marriage: (1) Romance, (2) Disillusionment, (3) Misery, and (4) Awakening. Due to the high divorce rate many couples never make it to the 4th Stage of Awakening.

Romance

Most are familiar with the 1st Stage of Romance. Life was so wonderful we couldn't stand to live without the other. Our thoughts often turned to the other when we were not with them. We had fallen in love and knew that this was the person we wanted to spend the rest of our life with. Little differences between us were cute and endearing.

Disillusionment

At some point those little differences started to annoy us. We felt bothered by some of those same things that may have been cute a short time earlier. The self-talk in the back of our mind started wondering why our spouse couldn't be more like us. We had entered into the 2nd Stage of Marriage, the Disillusionment Stage. During the Disillusionment Stage we start to realize that our spouse is not the perfect person that we had envisioned him or her to be. Sometimes, especially if our Romance Stage had been particularly intense, we are hurt deeply by this Disillusionment. We realize that the expectations we had of the perfect marriage were not going to happen. For some this realization is too heart wrenching and they give up on the marriage and divorce during this 2nd Stage of Disillusionment.

Misery

Many people stick with and try to work through their problems during Disillusionment. They seek the counsel of family, friends, clergy and marriage family counselors. Some of these people find the key they are looking for from these resources. Many others continue to struggle and their troubles worsen. Often the marriage deteriorates more deeply due to drug, alcohol or other addictions. Sometimes a third party relationship in the form of extramarital affairs result. As the couple finds themselves in this 3rd Stage of Marriage they know they have entered the Misery Stage.

The Misery Stage is where many couples find themselves considering a marriage separation or divorce. When children are involved this 3rd Stage of Misery is particularly difficult on them. Regardless of whether the couple stays together in misery or divorce the children often believe it is their fault regardless of assurances to the contrary. The effects of divorce on a child cannot be over emphasized. The pain is so intense during the Misery Stage that it is common to only want it to STOP. Much like the pain of a toothache that consumes your whole being you cannot seem to think of anything else besides stopping the pain. One spouse may be pushing hard for the divorce while the other wants to stop divorce.

If the couple ends the marriage at this point and remarry other partners they are more likely to experience the effects of divorce with their second or third spouse.

Awakening

Most people whose marriages end in divorce are not bad people. Rather, they are often people who never learned the proper tools for a happy marriage. This is where Retrouvaille (pronounced re-tro-vi with a long i.) can help. Teams of couples who have experienced all 4 Stages of Marriage present the Retrouvaille program. Instead of giving up they found solutions. In Retrouvaille they learned the tools they needed to live a happy marriage. They learned that marriage does not follow the Romance and Happily Ever After formula portrayed in literature and media. Rather, they learn that there are certain learnable skills, attitudes and tools that they can use to deal with the inevitable problems of the real world.

These skills, attitudes and tools give them what they need to move from the 3rd Stage of Misery into the 4th Stage of Awakening.

Whether you are in the Disillusionment Stage grieving the loss of that magical Romance or if you have moved firmly into the Misery Stage Retrouvaille can give you the marriage help you need to rebuild your marriage. Many tens of thousands of couples have turned their marriages around by giving this program a chance.

Can you save your marriage by attending and working the Retrouvaille program? You will never know until you try. Call the phone number or send an email to the caring Retrouvaille volunteers in your area. Ask them those tough questions that keep nagging at you in the back of your mind. The people answering the phone or responding to your email are people just like you who have been there and pushed through to the 4th Stage of Awakening. They will be able to relate to your feelings of hopelessness and loss. They will do their best to give you the answers you need about this program.

Tarpaulin Out - Standee and Frame Up Display, now the IN THING

With the popularity of Facebook, Twitter and Multiply ... I would say that the popularity of having a Tarpaulin during one's event is becoming less popular ...

Now is the time for STANDEE and FRAME UP DISPLAY.

Here is a sample standee from one of my couple-clients (Sunny and Elaine - July 9 event at Century Park Hotel)

The great thing about this standee is that guests would also post with it and take pictures, it's as if the couple is with them smiling at every shot they make.

I'd also recommend another option available for one's event - Frame Up Display (One supplier I know who caters to this would be FRAME UP DISPLAYS - add them via Facebook)

Definitely with the frame up display at your event, all your guests would be WOWED by its elegance and unique features - it would display not just one but different pictures of the couple/celebrant via slideshow presentation.

Well, this is just an opinion of a wedding coordinator.  I'm not saying that Tarpaulin shouldn't be in one's event anymore, Tarpaulin would still remain in everyone's event for many years to come aside from the fact that it's the most affordable.  However, I'd like everyone to have options available for them - tarpaulin, standee or frame up display.  This is a free country so anyone can choose what they'd like to have in their event.

Cel

Quality Photo Souvenirs from Pose and Print

One of my favorite photobooth team would be Ma'am Therese's POSE AND PRINT ...

The first time I worked with them I guess was sometime in 2008 and thereafter I've continuously worked with them as most of my couples would get their services.

What makes them unique from others?
  1. They cater to all events - any event you can think of, they can deliver
  2. They only produce high quality photos as instant souvenirs to the guests
  3. Personalized, elegant and unique photobooth layout
  4. Accommodating Pose and Print staff
  5. Above standard services and affordable packages
For those who would like unique souvenirs for their events, give it a go for a Photobooth and if I may suggest get the services of POSE AND PRINT.  They never fail, They always deliver.  Definitely your event will be a blast!

Francis and Alerie's Wedding

June 4, 2011 was the beginning of the rest of their lives ...

Alerie together with her sister Erika would join me in coordinating/organizing wedding events.  Alerie would usually handle the 2nd or 3rd team whenever I am unable to handle the 2nd/3rd event.

They started as work colleagues, then friends, then lovers .. then Francis made the proposal at Bohol and from there the realization of their dreams started ...

And came June 4 where it's her time to walk the aisle, his time to wait for his bride - the bridal march being serenedad by Anima Choir, photo and video shots by Smart Shot Studio, the beautiful hair and make up by Lourd Ramos and the wedding coordinated by Your Events.  Indeed it was a worth all the wait.

Now, Alerie is married to Francis.  Definitely, they are going to have a HAPPY WALK all the days of their lives.  Congratulations and Best Wishes to both of them!

Cel

Bridal Bouquet

I'm always fascinated with bridal bouquet as a photo subject ... They say that in a wedding the wedding cake is the wedding representation of the groom - and of course, the bridal bouquet is the wedding representation of the bride.

The bridal bouquet bespeaks so much of the bride's personality, the flowers they've chosen, the intricate designs and most of all the color combination.

Enjoy some of my favorite bridal bouquet  from all the weddings I've attended ...

Topping my list would be the TULIPS, very beautiful flowers for a bridal bouquet at the same very pricey ... I would say it speaks elegance and class for every bride who brings it; one advice though make sure that the flower designer that you get really knows how to design the tulips as a bridal bouquet.

(Image Credits:  Bridal bouquet of one of my bride Kathy Lim-Ang, May 15, 2011)

(Image Credit:  Bridal Bouquet of one my bride Vanessa Camacho-Catameo; Dec 23, 2010)

Of course, my all time favorite flowers for bridal bouquet - ROSES (it may be the regular or the ecuadorian roses) ... it's up to the bride what colors they prefer for the roses, again ROSES are another classic flower and it also bespeaks SIMPLICITY.

(Image Credit:  Bridal bouquet of one my bride Precious Antonio-Cayamanda, October 12, 2010)

(Image Credit: Another rose bridal bouquet of one of my bride Genev Aldeguer- Elnar, April 9, 2011)

Another classic favorite of mine would be CALLA LILIES as the bridal bouquet.  Calla Lilies are very unique flowers with such a unique design.  Again, I would say it's SIMPLE but very STYLISH, and indeed every bride who carries it - carries it with simplicity and style.

Hero Ko si Papa, a simple celebration given to our simple father

As per GMA 7's banner headlines during Rizal's 150th birthday - HERO KO SI RIZAL, well this blog is my way to give tribute to our hardworking, soft spoken, ever reliable, the genius and talented man of our construction business and the 6TH MAN in Your Events Team - HTV Sr.

His siblings call him "Ingkong", we call him "PAPA", his friends and cousins call him with his nickname "Dick", his grandsons and granddaughters call him "TATAY"... but whatever his monicker is he will always be our dear FATHER ... kaya nga HERO KO SI PAPA.

This Father's Day, we had a simple celebration at Aristocrat SM San Lazaro as our tribute to our PAPA, we thank God for giving us such a WONDERFUL FATHER.

Sir Nards and Ma'am Nessy's 50th Wedding Anniversary

A rare feat for a couple to reach their 50th Wedding Anniversary ... and it was a PRIVILEGE, an HONOR and a BLESSING to be part of ONE.

Sir Nards and Ma'am Nessy

I enjoyed the program set for that date.  It was truly enjoyable seeing both of them partaking in the wedding traditions - Cake Cutting Ceremony, Ceremonial Toast and of course, their Wedding Dance.  It was really fun and everyone was teary eyed during the AVP and even during their Thank You Message. It was touching when Sir Nards mentioned "Nagpapasalamat kami sa Diyos at umabot kami ng ganito katagal ..." and then everyone clapped.  Aside from the wedding party, it was also a reunion of the whole clan.

The reception took place at Amaranth Garden located at 3 Rd. 18, GSIS Hills Subd., Novaliches Q.C.. (Telephone Number: 351.7301).  The venue was perfect to celebrate this momentous occasion (Visit their site at www.amaranthgarden.multiply.com)

Thank you to Dra. Ria Trinidad for contacting me and giving me the OPPORTUNITY to host Mr. & Mrs. Leonardo and Dionisia Trinidad's 50th Wedding Anniversary and Renewal of Marriage Vows (Dra. Ria is the wife of Dr. Noel who is the son of Sir Nards and Ma'am Nessy)
The very beautiful Dra. Ria Trinidad who organized everything for her in-laws

And of course, the event was also successful with the help of the Angel Wink Coordination and Production Team headed by Ms. Love (my new found friend)...

And with this I pray that my husband and I would also reach this rare feat (crossing my fingers).  If not, I pray that God would continue to bless me and give me the opportunity to witness such wonderful celebration - indeed this one is a CELEBRATION OF UNENDING FRIENDSHIP, LOVE and of course, LIFELONG COMMITMENT.

I'm sure when Sir Nards and Ma'am Nessy got married first at Sta. Cruz Church, they both said " I wanna grow old with you"...

Best,
Cel
